Walls

Beloved:

The PRESENT GENERATION is primarily involved in BRIDGE BUILDING. May I say that not all Bridge Building is bad or wrong. Yet while the Present Generation’s preoccupation is with Bridge Building, I fear we have FAILED to MAINTAIN or ESTABLISH much-needed WALLS for this present HOUR. No doubt about it. We live in a generation of BRIDGE BUILDERS, both SACRED and SECULAR.

In the Book of 1 Chronicles Chapter 12, we have listed those of David’s Mighty Men. Among those listed, we have in 12:32 these words: “...and of the children (sons) of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do” (KJV). CHURCH, how we NEED these men TODAY!

If these men were in our Present Generation, I am sure they would be telling us to start WALL BUILDING...as in IMMEDIATELY! WHY? Because WALLS are not only NEEDED but ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. Ask the devil’s CROWD. They will tell you WALLS are a MUST for their EVIL AGENDA. For example, without the devil’s WALLS the Public School System in America would be OPEN to the GOD OF SCRIPTURE.

If these sons of Issachar were available to us today, they would no doubt DEMAND that we should MAINTAIN and BUILD WALLS of:

1. PROTECTION--Fortifications of DEFENSE against the ENEMY (devil) and his wicked/evil Forces.

2. RETAINING--Retaining WALLS to keep in place SCRIPTURAL TRUTH, preventing any EROSION whatsoever of these TRUTHS.

3. STANDARDS--Walls of SEPARATION providing BIBLICAL SUPPORT and at the same time PROHIBITING the INFILTRATION of the World, Flesh, and devil.

TWO QUESTIONS: First, as PREACHERS do you suppose our Lord could trace our LINEAGE (Ancestry) back to the sons of Issachar? Should not we as HIS Preachers have an “understanding of the TIMES” to know what we OUGHT TO DO? Second, the Prophet Jeremiah was called by the Lord a “fenced BRASEN (face boldly with open resistance) wall” (Jeremiah 15:20, KJV). Has the Lord ever thought of us (we Preachers) as a “fenced brazen wall” for our day?

Now a word from HIS WORD: “For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her (Jerusalem) a WALL OF FIRE round about and will be the GLORY in the midst of her”—Zechariah 2:5 ( KJV).
