A God-Forgetting Nation

Beloved:

The BIBLE has much to say concerning NATIONS. There are hundreds of verses where NATIONS are referenced. One such verse is Proverbs 14:33 (KJV): “Righteousness exalteth a NATION, but sin is a reproach (shame, disgrace) to any people.” However, there is one Verse of the Scripture’s hundreds that MUST demand our ATTENTION in this PRESENT HOUR…That verse being: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the NATIONS THAT FORGET GOD” (Psalm 9:17, KJV).

GOD FORGETTING must be a Nation Destroying SIN if Nations are turned into hell because of it. I am afraid we FAIL to realize the ENORMITY of the sin of GOD FORGETTING. Again, listen to the Psalmist: “Now consider this, ye that FORGET GOD, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver” (Psalm 50:22, KJV).

Those who designed ISRAEL’S WORSHIP CALENDAR did so to specifically protect against this NATION-DESTROYING SIN. The Passover, the Feast of Tabernacles, etc. were all placed in the calendar in order that Israel might REMEMBER and not FORGET their God and His doings. WHY SO?

You see, the sin of GOD FORGETTING is the soil from which all other sins grow! It is the Mother Of ALL SINS. Note the growth of the evil, wicked and abominable sins that FLOURISHED when Israel FORGOT GOD.
May I remind us: you cannot FORGET and REMEMBER at the same time. Also, you MUST have knowledge of something or someone before you can Remember or Forget. To Forget refers to any failure to remember that which was once known! Keep this in mind: REMEMBER is one of God’s favorite words in the Scripture. Check it out!

The QUESTION for us is: ARE WE LIVING IN A GOD-FORGETTING NATION? I say YES! You say, "HOW SO?" Just look at the Sins that FLOURISH in our Nation at this PRESENT HOUR! Our Lord Jesus said it best: REPENT OR PERISH (Luke 13:3,5, KJV).
